Cool is What Cool Is Is being cool a measure of who you are or a measure of your possessions. In this article we will take a look at the things people do to look cool and what others think about it. Many of us do not know what it was like to be one of the cool kids in school, and many of us spend our whole lives trying to achieve the popularity we did not have back in school. To do this they will spend all their money on material possessions to try to become more popular, instead of just being themselves. Cars, a fast sports car is the most common thing people buy to make them selves more cool. Most people do not go out and investigate the car that has the least amount of reported problems or is the most fuel efficient car they want a car that looks, fast and intimidating. Fashion: Some people think that being cool means spending all your money on expensive clothes just because they are the latest fad. The problems with fads is that once you get into them so is everyone else, and to be cool you have to be a leader and not a follower. Music, many people will listen to MTV to listen t the new big hits, again thinking that by knowing what is new and popular will make you appear cool to others. Online and Casino Gambling: gambling has become a very popular thing in recent years and with Poker shows popping up on all the TV channels, many people think it is cool to go to the casinos dressed up like famous poker players, including vests with patches from sponsors. As un-cool as dressing like a professional poker player may be playing casino games like Craps, Poker and Blackjack may be cool, games like Sic Bo, Keno and slot machines are not cool unless you hit a Multi Million Dollar jackpot. Accessories: Thanks to Hip Hop many people think that if you want to be cool you must have lots of gold and silver, and when it comes to Bling, bigger equals cooler. But for the most part these people spend thousands on these pieces of jewelry that makes them look stupid. Personal Appearance, many feel that how they look determines how cool they are. These people will spend hours a day working out and are always dieting to try and keep themselves in the best possible physical shape to try to make them cool. Being cool is not about what you have or listen to. Being cool is all about who you are. In school being cool was all about being popular, but what most adults see as cool is more about who you are, and doing what you want to do and not what everyone else does. Those who are considered to be cool are usually leaders and not followers. Being cool is not about wanting to be cool, being cool is about not caring what other people think and living life to its fullest, and in doing this you will find others with the same interests and these people will think of you as cool. So I guess the key to being cool is just to make friends with people who enjoy the same things you enjoy and in doing so you will find that as your self image increases your need to be cool decreases, and then you will be cool.
