The 82nd Academy Awards wrapped up the awards season Sunday night and fashion-wise the one word that best describes the night's looks is: "Wow!" From Sandra Bullock to Jennifer Lopez and Penelope Cruz, the Oscar ladies definitely were the most glamorous in years.
"The long gowns were fantastic -- the metallic and the shine," Allen B. Schwartz, the design director for ABS, tells ET. "It was incredibly great gowns, elegance and a real throwback to '40s glamour. I think we always hope for '40s Hollywood glamour, but last night you got it."
Allen's best picks of the night include Sandra, Jennifer, Penelope, Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz. And the trends he saw included the one-shoulder asymmetrical look, the color red, and metallics and shine with a little bit of bling in a glamorous way.

'Precious' Actress Sherri Shepherd in Search of the Perfect Oscar Dress
Sherri Shepherd is trying the Oscars on for size! ET is with "The View" co-host and 'Precious: Based on the novel Push by Sapphire' actress as she seeks to find the perfect gown for the big night!
Shepherd sought out designer Carmen Marc Valvo to help her dress her best. The actress and TV personality will be showing her support for 'Precious' as it is up for six Oscars. She imagines what it will be like if the film wins for Best Picture, saying, "It's gonna look really good if they go, 'The winner is 'Precious,'' and I go, 'Here I am!'"
