Sparkling with crystals Silver opal jewelry is one of the most popular fashion accessories these days. Almost all fashion magazines are featuring models with opal gemstone earrings. Opal in silver opal jewelry is available in a variety of colors. Opal is available in vivid hues of reds, greens, blues, pinks, and black. While some of the stones are of a single color, other stones have a gamut of colors on them. Among the most precious of opal stones are the black opal. This is why most fashion designers love to work with this stone. The dramatic color of the black opal works beautifully with platinum and titanium. Black opals are referred to by jewelers as the King of the opals. It is the most expensive among the different type of opals. The dark color of the opal ranges from dark grey to deep black and it is a direct result of carbon and iron oxide trace elements. A lot of jewelers are making black opal platinum necklaces. The effect of the black stone against dull platinum makes it very attractive. Boulder opals are formed from the cracks of iron stone boulders. Silver opal jewelry made with stone is found only in Australia as this stone is found only there. These opal stones are very thin and have to be cut out together with the ironstone on the back. Silver opal jewelry made from white opal is the most popular and most commonly found type. The body tone of this stone is white or very light in color and this causes the rest of the jewelry to shine.
